Anne Smart
I have taught for 11 years, both in public school and charter. I have been at GWA for 5 years. I love the curriculum. I LOVE teaching! I am more than happy to help you anytime please feel free to contact me.
I am the happy guardian of my niece Ivy (6th grade) and my nephew Mick (3rd grade). I have watched GWA change their lives and better their education in phenomenal ways. I hope to do the same for your child.
I live in Hurricane and Love the red-rock. I love meeting new people and enjoying many cultures. I love to travel, read, hike, take pictures, and write. You are most likely to find me reading a good book. I LOVE to share reading with small children especially as they first start out.
I am ecstatic to be your child’s teacher and I look forward to getting to know each of you and your families better.

Lanessa Stevens
Hi! My name is LaNessa Stevens. I have been teaching for 14 years. My first teaching position was here in St. George at Panorama Elementary, teaching kindergarten. Then I moved over to Sandstone when it was a brand new school! Four years and two kids later, we moved back to Wyoming and I taught kindergarten at the first charter school in Wyoming. For the next 9 years, I taught kindergarten and 3rd grade with the same curriculum as GWA! We moved to SanTan Valley, Arizona for a job opportunity for my husband. We were there 2 1/2 years and I taught kindergarten and 3rd grade. We moved back here to St. George to take care of my husband's parents' home while they served a mission. During this time, I dabbled in Insurance, sales, and Lab managing; while my husband completed his PhD in Entomology! He teaches Biology at Dixie State University. We have three children, 16, 14, and 9. We love St. George! We are so blessed to be here! I love teaching at GWA! I am so grateful for the staff, the building and the curriculum. I couldn't have asked for a better place to be!
